Public Relations Manager
A seasoned public relations professional, Shahla’s expertise is in the automotive industry, which she has covered for more than 20 years. She participates as an esteemed member of our PR team and utilizes her close relationships with the media to identify and solicit editorial opportunities for our clients.
Shahla started her career in automotive journalism at Chilton’s Motor Age magazine. After about 10 years, Shahla accepted a position as Managing Editor for Industrial Safety and Hygiene News, which led to a career in public relations. There, she has secured extensive media coverage for her clients, including Bosch, Purolator, SAE, DuPont, BASF, and other organizations.
Among her accomplishments, Shahla includes ASA’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, a keynote speech at a distributors’ association meeting and her experience as a screener at the Neal Awards – the Pulitzer Prize of trade journalism.
Prior to joining Marx Group, Shahla provided PR services to Bosch Automotive Aftermarket for 12 years, as an Account Supervisor at Target Communications and then as a PR Consultant. Over the years, she handled all trade-related PR activities for Bosch AA, including releases, articles, event coordination, and media relations.
Shahla has a B.A. in English, a B. Ed., and an M.A. in English Literature from Calcutta University, India, and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Temple University, Philadelphia.
When she isn’t attending to PR initiatives, you will find Shahla teaching English at Montgomery County Community College, presenting to the Shakespeare Club, or serving on her Condominium Association’s board.
