Tom speaks to the heart of business growth from the viewpoint of strategic marketing. His knowledge of business-to-business and consumer marketing and advertising spans over 30 years. Tom brings a depth of marketing expertise from many industries, including automotive, technology, real estate, property management, and industrial products and services.
Tom’s passion for connecting marketing and cars and trucks was sparked when he purchased a Porsche 912 and converted it into a street/track car and began racing on the weekends. He acquired a Porsche 911 and advanced to SCCA amateur racing and then began professional racing in IMSA with a 3.0 liter slide valve Porsche RSR. He opened a Porsche repair and race prep shop and learned to build engines and transmissions and sort out performance chassis.
Marx Advertising was born in 1984 and evolved to The Marx Group in 1992. Over the years, Marx Group has become one of the aftermarket’s leading marketing communications agencies. Tom is also Partner at Hart Marx Advisors, an M&A firm serving the aftermarket.
Tom believes in giving back and supporting the industry he loves. He is an active participant in the Auto Care Association the Automotive Communications Council (ACC) and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), to name a few.
He loves to play as much as he works! Tom is an avid snow skier, hiker, biker and hosts a Supper Club where he gets to perform as a chef. Friend to the industry and to clients old and new, Tom’s favorite place to be is wherever he can help others succeed.
